Art from the Wilds

This is a grove of artworks. Each grove holds a different kind of energy; a cluster of creations shaped by different materials, made in different rhythms, and often born from different seasons of my life.

The first two groves explore layered paper and imagery - some mythic, some social commentary, and some simply playful. You will find the Sacred Grove is more grounded in natural materials and land-based work. Across all of them, I feel I am in deep conversation with the mythic, the real, and the more-than-human world.

Thoughout, you may find upon small portals that invite a deeper look into materials and process. Keep an eye out for a clump of moss, or a eucalyptus bloom.

Please take your time. Most pieces open in a lightbox for a fuller view

Layered Paper Collage & Sculptural Forms

I have always loved paper collage as an artistic practice. It is like an ongoing conversation between me and the imagery in my hands. I feel like we weave stories together, as I choose images and other textured materials and rearrange them on the page. As I continue to layer intuitively, new meanings and discoveries emerge. Sometimes, these paper creations are whimsical, others feel quite fierce and some are surreal. It is always fascinating to see what arises from this mythic conversation between worlds, and in turn how this speaks to me.

Studio & Digital Works - Mythic Dreamforms

These works are from my imagination and are working with an emergent process.  They arise organically from somewhere in the liminal wilds of my being; a space which resides between the known and unknown.  Each digital or sculptural piece weaves together different fragments- whether vintage photos, mixed media works, or assemblages incorporating found materials. They slowly come into form as I create them through intuiton and layering. In a way I feel they act as portals. They are a little mythical, a little magical and a little surreal. I hope they pique your curiosity.

Eco-Mythic/Relics from the Wilds

Exploring materials, processes and the more-than-human world. These artworks offer a kind of counterpoint to the digital pieces above- an honouring of the duality in my work. These works emerged from moments of presence, both with materials and with myself. Each piece hold something personal for me. They were not created with an outcome in mind, but rather in conversation with the world around me.

Are you curious about creating relationally with the world around you?

Natures Palette

Natural materials have always inspired me in artmaking. The above pieces might not be polished, but that is kind of the point. Nature is beautiful and raw. It is untamed, not neat. As a Creative Arts Therapist, I often gather sticks, leaves, stones, seaglass, shells, bark, seedpods and other found objects for workshops and sessions. These found forms speak to me of place and I like to think are a little bit like my muses. Meander over to Natureโ€™s Palette for some nature inspiration!!
